Students even took the time away from their summer vacations to attend. One even left a family vacation early and drove six hours to come to the meeting and show her support for candidate Jason Marling. “He goes to absolutely everything and he is somebody that all of the students love and admire and really respect and I really think respect is a big thing,” said Erin Guy, president of the JMHS Youth Leadership Association. Another seniorand fellow classmate, Joseph Lucey, agreed. “I know Mr. Marling, he has connected with the students on a more personal level. I know he has walked around school asking for opinions on what can better the school.” As the final person, Carla Whitlachaddressed the board, she said she doesn’t understand why anyone would fault the committee and the way they handled the interview process.
